Brad Amick

Brad is the owner and lead instructor of Carolina Tactical Training.  He has over 25 years of public safety experience.  During his law enforcement he operated in various areas to include patrol, investigations, and tactical narcotics units.  Brad is a master gunsmith with our parent company Amick's Guns and a factory certified Cerakote applicator.  Brad specializes in the advanced handgun courses, carbine courses, precision rifle courses and tactics.

Ryan Lee

Ryan is a lead instructor for Carolina Tactical Training in the Florence, SC market. He is a veteran, having
served 14+ years with the 30 th Armored Brigade Combat Team, with 3 deployments in the Middle East in Security Operations. Other than US soldiers, Ryan has also trained joint-coalition forces, US Naval
Military Police, and several Law Enforcement units. Ryan has been actively competing in various types of
shooting competitions for over 5 years, primarily in USPSA where he currently competes in the Carry
Optics, Limited, and Production divisions. Ryan specializes in advanced handgun courses, competitive
shooting courses, and CQB tactic courses.

Donta Stewart

Donta is a passionate instructor with CTT (2020) and takes pride in providing his students with industry current training for real life situations. He is certified by USCCA as a Home Defense Fundamentals Instructor and a South Carolina Concealed Weapons Instructor. Donta has spent many years in service to his country and his community by serving in the US Navy, US Army, and as a Law Enforcement Officer. He has been a member of numerous protection details responsible for the physical safety and security of high ranking government officials, diplomats, and dignitaries. Donta has 15+ years of experience in tactical operations, teaching, and investigations. During his Law Enforcement career, he held the position of “Criminal Investigations Division Supervisor” with a focus on Major and Violent Crimes. He also acted as the agency’s Lead Training Instructor to educate numerous Law Enforcement personnel in Officer Survival.

James Smith

James “Jim” Smith is a veteran of the US Air Force where he served as a military firefighter. He
was also a member of the Prime Base Engineer Emergency Force (Prime BEEF) responsible for
establishing air bases in austere environments. He is a small arms expert (rifle). Upon returning
to civilian life he became a registered nurse and has 5 years’ experience in emergency nursing
and is certified in Basic and Advanced Cardiac Life Support. He is certified to teach and certify
concealed weapons training in South Carolina. He also teaches basic handgun and first aid. Jim
enjoys working with new students who have never fired weapons before. He is also an avid
outdoorsman and enjoys hunting, fishing, and boating.
